And my sweet boy was quite blindsided and quite shook up. So he quietly left the trampoline and he and I walked to the deck and talked.
He fought a very quivery lip and some small tears rolled. But he was so composed and the whole time he talked, I was taken back by his stunning composure. He looked so meek and yet so strong.
I tried to listen and speak in a way to both protect and care for my son - but also to arm him with the strength and courage to show this boy the kindness of Christ. And boy did God cause Miles to flourish.
He took such a courageous step and reentered the trampoline. And he jumped and played with such sweet warmth and kindness as we wrapped up the night of play.
It is with tears that I say I am so proud of you Miles.
